Modi surname remark: SC stay paves way for Rahul Gandhi's disqualification reversal

In a big relief for Rahul Gandhi, the Supreme Court in an interim order on Friday stayed his conviction in the 2019 'Modi surname' remark defamation case. The SC stay on Gandhi's conviction paved the way for the reversal of his disqualification from the Lok Sabha and he gets to return as Wayanad MP. Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from the Lok Sabha on March 24 following his conviction in the defamation case.
