Sunday, 6 August 2023 A 66-year-old locksmith from Aligarh has made a giant-sized 400kg lock — almost 10 feet high, 4.6 feet wide and 9.5 inches thick — for the Ram mandir in Ayodhya, reports Mohammad Dilshad. Satya Prakash Sharma, the locksmith, termed it “the world’s largest handmade lock”.
The second phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh on April 26 holds high stakes for several prominent faces, including actress Hema Malini, actor Arun Govil, and former BSP leader Danish Ali. In the eight constituencies going to polls – Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura – unemployment has emerged as a major concern, with youth expressing anger over recruitment exam paper leaks and lack of job opportunities. The BJP had won seven of these seats in 2019, with Amroha being the lone exception, where Danish Ali had emerged victorious on a joint BSP-SP-RLD ticket. Oneindia brings you special reports.
