AAP defends Raghav Chadha, says BJP’s forgery charge aims at disqualifying him
Tuesday, 8 August 2023 Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) defended its party's Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha in the alleged forged signature matter. Leader of AAP in Rajya Sabha Sanjay Singh, who stands suspended from the House in the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament for unruly behaviour, came in Chadha's defence on Tuesday. Chadha had included names of some MPs from other parties in a proposal for setting up a select committee for the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023. At least four of these MPs denied that they ever gave their consent to Chadha.
Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha was today suspended from the Rajya Sabha for "breach of privilege" after complaints from four MPs alleging he named them in a house panel without their consent in violation of rules.
