With assembly elections coming up later this year, a major issue is to campaign against the ECI Bill, which proposes to bias the selection committee for the Chief Election Commissioner towards the government. The alliance partners are also focussing on forming committees, state-wise captains, and joint strategies to take on the government.

The once-dominant BSP, notably absent, has made headlines with Mayawati removing her nephew, Akash Anand, as her successor due to his lack of political maturity. Despite a shrinking voter base, BSP still holds influence. Akash's rise and subsequent removal reveal internal rifts, possibly stemming from BSP's tacit support for BJP. His removal signals a shift in BSP's approach, surprising many.

Tearing into the INDI alliance, PM Narendra Modi on Sunday wondered how the Congress could turn his guarantees into a sin. Addressing a public rally in Nawada, Bihar Prime Minister Narendra Modi says, "The guarantees of Modi are troubling INDI alliance members, they are not liking it. A very big leader of the I.N.D.I.A alliance said that Modi, whatever guarantees you give, there should be a ban on them. Are you scared of Modi's guarantee?...If I tell my countrymen that I will work 24 hours, is it a crime?...Modi gives a guarantee because he works hard to fulfil the guarantee...I gave the guarantee that Article 370 will be removed. What was the result? Article 370 was gone or not?..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav over the alliance between Samajwadi Party and Congress for the Lok Sabha elections. Referring to the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election alliance that failed to win the election, PM Modi said the "flop film of two boys" has been released again. “This is the first election that I am seeing where the opposition is fighting not to win but to stop the BJP below 370 seats and the NDA below 400,” ANI quoted the Prime Minister as saying at a rally in UP's Saharanpur
