Sunday, 20 August 2023 Terming the act of targeting the Kuki trio "within the jurisdiction of Nagalim" an "unwarranted intrusion", the NSCN(IM) said the August 18 killings at Sipijang village near Thowai were the handiwork of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) and a Naga outfit that it said "doesn't represent the community's interest and welfare".
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has criticized the government's handling of the Manipur issue, saying the state has been waiting for peace for a year and violence needs to be stopped on priority. He expressed anger over the Kuki-Meitei divide, stating that India has made strides in various fields, but has not overcome all challenges. Bhagwat also slammed the negative political campaigning during elections, hinting at potential differences between the RSS and BJP over certain issues.
