The Supreme Court granted permission for a rape survivor to undergo the medical termination of her over 27-week pregnancy, observing that pregnancy outside of marriage is injurious and a cause of stress. The Gujarat High Court was not correct in rejecting the request of the survivor, according to the Supreme Court.
