Karnataka releases 7,500 cusecs of Cauvery water to TN amid stir

Following orders from the Cauvery River Management Authority (CRMA), officials of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd (CNNL) started to release water from the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) reservoir in Karnataka amid protests. The authorities released 4,398 cusecs of water to the river on Wednesday morning, which was stepped up to 7,500 cusecs in the afternoon.
