The Karnataka government's scheme to provide financial assistance to members of minority communities for purchasing taxis or goods vehicles has sparked a political battle between the BJP and Congress. Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar criticized the scheme, accusing the Congress of engaging in appeasement politics. Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya argued that the scheme would be funded by the middle class and targeted towards minorities.
