India slams ‘disgraceful incident’ at Gurdwara, UK says places of worship must be open to all

IndiaTimes Saturday, 30 September 2023
The UK's minister for Indo-Pacific has expressed concern over the safety and security of foreign diplomats after Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami was prevented from entering a gurdwara in Glasgow by Sikh extremists. The Indian High Commission in London reported the incident to UK authorities and urged them to take action against the culprits. The organisers of the event, which included community leaders and a member of the Scottish Parliament, confirmed that three individuals disrupted the planned interaction. The High Commissioner and Consul-General decided to leave the premises to avoid any altercation.
