Mumbai: 305 Cooper, Sion MBBS students bunk classes, get barred from exams
Tuesday, 10 October 2023
Around 305 first-year MBBS students in Mumbai have been barred from writing university exams due to insufficient attendance. Students are required to complete 75% attendance in theory and 80% in practical sessions, but some students recorded attendance as low as 35%. The colleges had given multiple warnings to the students, but they failed to meet the minimum attendance criteria. Concerns have been raised about the effectiveness of classroom teaching in pre-clinical years, as many students prefer self-study or mobile learning platforms.
