Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch H D Deve Gowda has called for a meeting of the party's state council to discuss the removal of C M Ibrahim as the Karnataka unit president. Ibrahim has rebelled against the party's decision to ally with the BJP for the Lok Sabha polls. Gowda is concerned that state Congress functionaries are supporting Ibrahim, and wants to take action before any drastic moves are made.
