India's first semi high-speed train system, RapidX, is set to launch on Friday. The project faced challenges such as land acquisition issues, managing traffic volumes, and addressing grievances in a densely populated region. The design was aligned with the PM GatiShakti's National Master Plan for multimodal connectivity. Meticulous planning and coordination among various agencies and government departments ensured the project was delivered on time. Once operational, the Delhi-Meerut corridor is expected to bring economic development to the Ghaziabad-Meerut region. Transit-oriented development policies and special development areas are also being implemented along the corridor.
