Punjab to move Supreme Court as guv says assembly session illegal

IndiaTimes Friday, 20 October 2023
The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has decided to move the Supreme Court against Governor Banwarilal Purohit's decision to not clear pending bills, which he deemed as "patently illegal." The governor had warned that if the government persisted with the illegal session, he would consider reporting the matter to the President of India. In response, the Punjab government has decided not to present any bills until the Supreme Court provides clarity on the issue.
