No terror killing in Assam so far this year: DGP

Assam DGP GP Singh has said that no civilian or trooper was killed or abducted by any terrorist outfit in the state so far this year, a first since 1991. Speaking on the sidelines of a government event , Singh pointed out that the stringent Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) had been lifted from all but four districts. On Saturday, governor Gulab Chand Kataria asserted that the state “is largely peaceful” and lauded police for making it possible.
