Incidents of extremism, terror down by 65%, says Amit Shah

Home Minister Amit Shah stated that 188 police personnel sacrificed their lives in the line of duty between September 2022 and August 2023. He credited the efforts of the police for reducing incidents of terrorism, left-wing extremism, northeast insurgency, and ethnic violence by 65% from their peak levels. Shah also mentioned the introduction of three bills in the Lok Sabha to replace the Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, and Indian Evidence Act.
