Depression over Bay of Bengal likely to become low-intensity cyclone by Tuesday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that a depression over the Bay of Bengal may develop into a low-intensity cyclonic storm by October 24. The system is expected to intensify into a deep depression and move towards the Bangladesh-West Bengal coasts in the following days. The IMD has cautioned fishermen not to venture into the sea until October 25 and farmers to harvest matured paddy crops by October 23 due to the expected rainfall in coastal Odisha.
