Charged ₹20 for a carry bag, shopper wins ₹3,000 from MNC

A woman in Bengaluru took Ikea to a consumer court after being charged Rs 20 for a branded carry bag. The court ruled in her favor, stating that Ikea was guilty of unfair trade practice and that the seller should bear the cost of putting goods in a deliverable state. The court ordered Ikea to refund the Rs 20 for the bag and pay the woman Rs 3,000 in compensation. The judges expressed shock at the attitude of big showrooms and emphasized that customers should be suitably compensated.
