Parag Desai, the executive director of tea brand Wagh Bakri, has died in Ahmedabad after suffering a head injury while trying to escape a pack of stray dogs outside his home. Desai, a fourth-generation entrepreneur, was on a ventilator for a week before passing away. The incident highlights the issue of stray dogs in the city, with the Gujarat high court previously expressing concerns about the safety of pedestrians. The state government recently reported a high number of dog bite cases in Ahmedabad.
