GMR to up its stake in Hyderabad Airport to 74% by acquiring Malaysia Airport’s 11% stake

The GMR Group plans to increase its stake in Hyderabad Airport by acquiring the 11% stake held by Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) for $100 million. This acquisition will raise GMR Airports' stake in GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) to 74%. The transaction is expected to be completed within 135 days. GHIAL operates Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and handled 2.1 crore passengers in 2022-23. GMR Airports is the largest private airport operator in Asia and the second largest globally.
