Law Commission chief, members meet Kovind panel on simultaneous polls; give detailed presentation

The Law Commission, headed by Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, has presented a plan for simultaneous elections in India to the high-level committee on 'one nation, one election'. The commission discussed the changes required in the Constitution to hold simultaneous polls and is yet to submit its report to the government. The committee has also requested the views of political parties on holding simultaneous elections and has given them the option to provide written views within the next three months.
