Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal has challenged his arrest under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and remand orders, stating they were "unwarranted, arbitrary and illegal." Goyal's legal team argued that the arrest violated the safeguards outlined in the PMLA, including informing the person of the grounds for arrest. However, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) countered that Goyal was provided with the necessary information and that the arrest was legal. The Bombay High Court reserved its orders on the plea. Goyal was arrested in connection with an alleged fraud of Rs 538 crore at Canara Bank.
