Fadnavis, who is currently one of the deputy chief ministers in Maharashtra, had previously made the statement before the 2019 Assembly elections. The BJP has clarified that the video does not indicate any change in leadership and that Fadnavis has expressed support for current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
