Israel-Palestine conflict: CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury says implementation of 'Two-State' mandate only solution
Sitaram Yechury, general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), stated that the only solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict is the implementation of the United Nations' two-state mandate. Yechury expressed dismay at India's decision to abstain from voting on a resolution for a humanitarian truce in Gaza, calling it a deviation from India's longstanding support for the Palestinian cause. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Communist Party of India issued a joint statement condemning India's abstention and urging for an immediate ceasefire.
