A 17-meter-long side beam from a construction gantry collapsed onto a car in Meerut, India, causing severe injuries to a police constable. This incident is being investigated for potential mechanical faults. The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor, India's first, is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 30,270 crore and is expected to significantly reduce commuting time between Delhi and Meerut. The corridor consists of 24 stations and is set to become fully operational by June 2025.
