'Limit debate to SYL canal only', Akali Dal tells Punjab CM
Monday, 30 October 2023
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to hold a meeting with representatives from all parties to decide the modalities and agenda for a proposed debate on the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal issue. The SAD has called for the debate to be limited to this issue to prevent the loot of Punjab's river waters. The SAD also stated that it is open to a debate on all issues concerning Punjab at a later date. If the Chief Minister does not respond to their proposal, the SAD will seek other means to protect Punjab's rights.
