INDIA allies in a not-so-friendly fight in MP assembly election
Wednesday, 1 November 2023
The Samajwadi Party (SP) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), part of the opposition bloc in India, are facing difficulties in coalescing for the 2023 Madhya Pradesh assembly election. Both parties have fielded candidates, including on seats with incumbent Congress MLAs. While the presence of SP and AAP could potentially divide anti-BJP votes, leaders from all three parties deny this. SP and AAP believe they will receive votes from both Congress and BJP supporters. Congress dismisses any threat, stating that it is a clear fight between Congress and BJP.
