Delhi riots: Court pulls up cops for clubbing 20 complaints in one FIR
Wednesday, 1 November 2023 A city court in New Delhi has criticized the police for combining 20 complaints related to the 2020 Delhi riots into a single FIR. The court stated that the cases were not properly investigated and ordered that each incident be probed separately. One accused, Sandeep Kumar, was acquitted due to lack of evidence. The court also highlighted that the combining of complaints prevented the complainants from exercising their rights. The court directed the police to investigate the additional 19 complaints separately.
