Justice Vaidyanathan appointed chief justice of Meghalaya HC
Thursday, 2 November 2023 The senior most judge of Madras high court, Justice S Vaidyanathan, has been appointed new chief justice of the high court of Meghalaya. In a resolution passed to this effect, the Supreme Court collegium said, “it is proposed to appoint Justice S Vaidyanathan as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya.” His appointment has come a day after the incumbent chief justice Sanjib Banerjee retired on November 1. After his enrolment in the Bar in 1986, Justice Vaidyanathan was appointed as a judge of Madras high court on October 25, 2013.
