Curbs on BS III petrol, BS IV diesel cars: Desperate Delhi looks to loosen pollution's grip
Friday, 3 November 2023 The sub-committee of the Commission for Air Quality Management has enforced measures for 'severe' air pollution in Delhi and NCR. Construction and demolition, stone crushing, and mining-associated activities have been banned. Primary classes till Class V have been suspended. Strict restrictions have been imposed on BS III petrol and BS IV diesel cars. Delhi Metro will add 20 more trips to meet the demand for public transport. The ban on construction and demolition activities will impact daily-wage laborers. The Commission invoked stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan to prevent further deterioration of air quality.
