MP polls: Congress opposed caste census, Mandal Commission report, BJP taking same path, says Akhilesh
Sunday, 5 November 2023 Samajwadi Party chief AkhileshYadav accused both the Congress and the BJP of only talking about caste census and reservations to woo the "PDA" segment, which includes backwards, Dalits, and Adivasis. He criticized the Congress for stopping the caste census and refusing to implement the Mandal Commission report in the past, and claimed that the BJP was now taking a similar path. Yadav expressed his party's support for a caste census, 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes, and a better scheme for women than the MP government's Ladli Behna Scheme.
