Grand Alliance: Who has stopped Centre from holding caste census?

IndiaTimes Monday, 6 November 2023
Leaders from the Grand Alliance in Bihar have challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to conduct a caste census across the country to obtain accurate data on caste demographics. Both JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan alias Lalan Singh and RJD leader and deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav criticized Shah's accusations that the Bihar government had inflated Muslim and Yadav numbers in the state's caste survey. They questioned why the BJP was not conducting a caste census in BJP-ruled states and demanded transparency regarding the number of backward class leaders in Modi's government.
