India-Nepal border forces hold talks, discuss 'mutual issues'
The border guarding forces of India and Nepal are holding their annual meeting to discuss mutual issues, including the curbing of trans-frontier crimes and intelligence sharing. The meeting aims to strengthen coordination and more effectively manage the open and unfenced India-Nepal border. The two countries have been holding these annual talks since 2012, alternating between India and Nepal. The open border between the two countries allows citizens to cross without passport and visa restrictions, as per the Treaty of Peace and Friendship signed in 1950.
