IIT faculty's 58 papers retracted in 17 years

A monitoring agency has reported that faculty members at India's premier Indian Institutes of Technology have retracted scores of research papers over the past two decades due to concerns about author integrity. Between 2006 and 2023, 58 papers were retracted for reasons such as plagiarism and duplication. While the number of retractions from Indian institutions has increased in recent years, the issue is being taken seriously and addressed at a high level.
