Crimes against seniors in Delhi up 35% from 2022

The number of crimes against senior citizens in Delhi has risen by 35% this year compared to the same period last year, according to Delhi Police data. The cases include murder, attempted murder, robbery, theft, cybercrime, and sexual assault. While 60% of cases have been solved this year, compared to 90% last year, arrests have decreased slightly from 97 to 91. Cybercrime cases targeting senior citizens have also increased. The Delhi Police have implemented measures such as an exclusive helpline, senior citizen cards, and regular visits to ensure the safety of elderly citizens.
