NIA files chargesheet against five for planning terrorist conspiracy in India
Saturday, 11 November 2023 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against five individuals, including four foreign nationals, for their involvement in a planned conspiracy by al-Qaida operatives to carry out terrorist activities in India. The accused infiltrated into India using forged documents and were engaged in fundraising, recruitment, and radicalization activities. Investigations have revealed that the accused had handlers based on both sides of the border who provided training and guidance. Efforts are being made to identify these handlers through diplomatic channels.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident. Both Taha and Shazib hail from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district, according to statements from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
