Bachelor Karnataka farmers plan temple march in search for brides

IndiaTimes Monday, 13 November 2023
Scores of Karnataka farmers are planning to go on a march to a shrine in Mandya next month in search of brides. They believe that there is a "bride crisis" caused by the reluctance of women and their families to live in rural areas. The farmers will be marching under the banner of the Akhila Karnataka Brahmacharigala Sangha, with the consent of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt seer. The objective of the march is to raise awareness about the issue. They say this crisis has been caused by reluctance among many women and their families to be yoked to rural life.
