HC quashes FIR against Gurmeet Ram Rahim over remarks on Kabir and Ravidas

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 14 November 2023
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed the FIR against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for allegedly insulting religious sentiments. The court found no evidence of distortion or misrepresentation in the incident involving Sant Kabir Das and Guru Ravidas. Ram Rahim has been serving a 20-year sentence for rape and was granted parole and furlough earlier this year. He was convicted in 2017 for raping two women disciples. The court also recently convicted him and four others in connection with a murder case.
