NGT asks for fresh report on Joshimath

IndiaTimes Sunday, 19 November 2023
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) was dissatisfied with the report of the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board on Joshimath subsidence. The NGT asked the board to submit a fresh report within three weeks and fixed the matter for further hearing on January 24. Taking cognisance of media reports on the Joshimath disaster, the NGT had constituted a nine-member committee headed by the chief secretary, SS Sandhu, to suggest remedial measures.
