41 ambulances, 2 helicopters ready to ferry the rescued to hospital

IndiaTimes Thursday, 23 November 2023
As hopes rise for the evacuation of 41 workers trapped in an under-construction tunnel in Uttarkashi's Silkyara, preparations are being made to transport them to hospitals. Ambulances and helicopters are on standby, with at least one ambulance per person and a 40-bed Covid ward available for medical assistance. Two helicopters have also been prepared for use by the disaster management team. Health experts have warned that the trapped workers may face health issues such as respiratory diseases and lack of Vitamin D due to their prolonged confinement.
