Deepfake row: Centre to aid citizens in filing FIR against social media platforms for violating IT rules

Meity will create a platform for reporting violations. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of AI accessibility and addressing concerns about deepfakes. The government issued guidelines for social media companies to identify and remove misleading content. New regulations are being considered, including penalties for creators and platforms, and safeguards against deepfakes.
A few days ago, social media was overflowing with pictures and videos of well-known actors like Katrina Kaif and Rashmikka Mandanna. Following that, there were some deepfake videos of the prime minister making the rounds on social media.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor appears to be headed for a fourth consecutive term from Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency. During the initial hours of counting, the fight between Chandrasekhar and Tharoor was neck-and-neck with each taking a lead of a few thousand votes. By noon, the BJP leader gained a healthy lead of around 24,000 votes over Tharoor, who is hoping to win a fourth time from Thiruvananthapuram LS seat. However, more than an hour later, Tharoor took back the lead from Chandrasekhar.
