Friday, 24 November 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reference to “injustice” meted out to Gujjar community leaders, the late Rajesh Pilot and his son Sachin Pilot, by the Congress leadership has come at a time when BJP is expecting decisive gains from the Gujjardominated eastern Rajasthan region, where the party had suffered a complete washout in the 2018 assembly polls. The party had lost all 32 Gujjar dominated seats in the eastern Rajasthan districts of Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Alwar, Bharatpur and Karauli even as BJP held its own in the Mewar-Marwar region in 2018.
