Centre convenes all-party meeting on December 2 ahead of Parliament winter session
Monday, 27 November 2023 The government has called for an all-party meeting on December 2, ahead of the Winter Session of Parliament that is set to begin on December 4. The session will conclude on December 22. The meeting has been preponed by a day due to the counting of votes for five states on December 3. The Winter session will follow the declaration of results of assembly polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, and Telangana. The session may discuss bills to replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Evidence Act, as well as the "cash for query" allegations against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra.
Rahul Gandhi expressed dismay during his third visit to Manipur since the outbreak of violence, lamenting the lack of improvement as the state remains divided. He highlighted the dire situation: houses burning, lives at risk, and thousands displaced to relief camps.
