India Meteorological Department predicts a mild winter this season with temperatures above normal across India. The forecast is in line with expectations for an El Nino year. Above normal maximum temperatures and warmer than normal minimum temperatures are expected in most parts of the country, with some exceptions in northwest and central India. The number of cold wave days is expected to be lower than normal in the northern regions. Last month was the warmest November ever recorded in India.
