Telangana: Elaborate arrangements made in Telangana's Warangal ahead of counting of votes
Saturday, 2 December 2023 Ahead of the counting of votes in Telangana, elaborate arrangements were made in the Warangal district on Saturday. The counting of votes of five assembly constituencies from Warangal and Hanamkonda districts namely, Warangal East, West, Narsampet, Wardhannapet and Parkala will be held at Enumamula Agricultural Market. As per the state election department, section 144 has been imposed at the premises of counting centres.
On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today. This decision was made due to "derogatory and objectionable statements" made by Rao against the Congress party. The EC's action followed a complaint filed by Congress leader G Niranjan, prompting the commission to issue a notice to K Chandrashekar Rao. The EC noted that Rao had previously received several advisories and instructions regarding his speeches.
