The winter session of Parliament is set to begin with contentious issues such as the expulsion of Trinamool Congress member Mahua Moitra, appointment of election commissioners, and the assembly elections in four states dominating discussions. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presided over a meeting attended by political leaders including Pralhad Joshi, Jairam Ramesh, Gaurav Gogoi, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Derek O'Brien, and Fouzia Khan. The government has listed 19 bills for the session.
