India agrees to withdraw soldiers from the Maldives as President Mohamed Muizzu announces the decision. Muizzu campaigned to change the Maldives's 'India first' policy and remove the small Indian military presence. Indian government agreed to remove soldiers and establish a committee for development projects. Indian military personnel were mainly present to operate helicopters and aircraft, assist in disaster response, and help build a naval dockyard.
