Despite Congress's third consecutive failure to retain power in Rajasthan under Ashok Gehlot's leadership, the party's winning of 69 seats in the face of a saffron surge provides some solace. However, this may not be enough to quell Sachin Pilot's fight for a change of guard. Gehlot's strained relationship with Pilot and his selection of candidates that didn't align with the Gandhi family's preferences may work against him. Moreover, Gehlot's withdrawal from the AICC presidential election and the CLP boycott by his loyalists could further impact his position.
