Outreach pays off, tribal vote shifts from Congress to BJP

Elections in MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Telangana were a battle for tribal votes. BJP won over the key tribal demographic and secured a majority of ST seats in Chhattisgarh, MP, and Rajasthan. However, in Telangana, Congress won the majority of ST seats. BJP has focused on the tribal community since 2014, using symbolism and development works to appeal to them. Congress also relied heavily on the ST community, making welfare promises and emphasizing self-respect.
