Visa-free entry to Asian nations pushes up air fares

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 5 December 2023
Nearby international destinations like Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia have become 'visa mukt' for Indian travelers, leading to higher airfares. However, Indian carriers have resumed international flights, causing fares to Europe and North America to decrease. Southeast Asian destinations are in high demand due to being visa-free, with airfares for these locations doubling compared to last year. The wedding season has also contributed to increased demand, resulting in higher hotel charges and airfares.
