MeitY blocks 100+ websites for job frauds
Wednesday, 6 December 2023
Indian Cyber Coordination Centre (I4C) and ministry of electronics and IT (MeitY) have blocked over 100 websites involved in investment and job frauds operated by overseas entities. Large-scale economic frauds were laundered out of India using card network, cryptocurrency, overseas ATM withdrawals, and international Fintech companies. The websites used digital advertisement, chat messengers, and rented accounts for illegal investment-related economic crimes. The government's 'Cyber-Safe India' initiative identified these websites through the National Cybercrime Threat Analytics Unit (NCTAU).
